THE PRODUCT IN THE PROCESS

There are many days I would marvel at this earth we live in. How wonderfully the sun knows when to rise and the moon when to set. How clouds fill the air and the sea roar so vigorously and yet know its limits. How tiny seeds grow into large trees and how leaves turn brown and green again. Our God truly is a mighty creator. Somehow you would think because it’s all together, God did it all in one blow, not so. It’s not because He couldn’t, but He chose to take His time and made it special. Take for instance cooking, who would want to eat half-cooked meat or have a television that lacks qualities due to rush?

As we read the book of Genesis we read that God immediately acted on His vision. He saw that the earth was void and filled with darkness, by His spoken word light came forth and lifted the darkness from off the earth (Genesis 1: 2-4). Countless times we procrastinate our setting out in our goals, mostly because it seems too far or unachievable.

Whatever your dreams or ambitions may be, remember dream big and take a step at a time.  There are many dreams or ambitions we have, prioritize and place those that are more important first. God also had steps He took to perfectly complete His dream of having a wonderful home for us His children.

Try drawing up a plan or strategy on how you will achieve your dream or ambition. Know that by your own strength you can do nothing (Philippians 4:13). You need the help of your Creator (Psalm121:1). You need to ask for help from the One who holds all power and created you so wonderfully (knowing your limits and capabilities)? And as God finalized each step He appreciated and celebrated it (“… and God saw it was good”, Genesis 1:10, 12, 18, 21, 25).

Treat every step as a challenge (once you are in the boxing ring no backing out) and as you overcome with God’s grace, celebrate yourself. Small as that step may have seemed to you or others it took you further from the starting point. So celebrate you and give thanks to God for His help and grace that is present at all times.

All great things started off small. Make that move today not tomorrow. K Engelbrecht
